Note: All Blog Postings must be posted the day it is due before class begins!

All blog posts are listed below. Look for the blog number assigned for the week and follow the directions, creating a new blog post.

#Blog Post TitleInstructionsDate AssignedDate Due
#1 "Bio Poem"Post your Bio-Poem to your blog and name the post "Bio-Poem" 09/19/089/22/08
#2"Response to Lyrics" Find a song that you relate to (or really like). State the Song Name and the Artist's Name. Then embed a video of the song from Youtube into your blog by first searching Youtube for your song/artist, clicking on a link, then copying the embed link that is on the right side of the page and pasting it in your blog (hint: it is under the url link). Remember to review the video or mp3 and make sure it is acceptable under the blog agreement. After you embed the video, find the lyrics by searching Google or a Lyric website like Lyrics.com and copy/paste them into your blog under the embed code. Lastly, you must respond to the song by writing a 1/2 to 3/4 of a page (or more if you are so inclined). Your response should talk about how you relate to the song (how it affects you, why you like it, how it makes you feel, etc). Then you want to talk about what the song tells you about the Artist (who they are, their style, their emotions, etc). Please refer to my blog entry as a model for how you should set yours up: My Blog.09/26/0809/29/08
#3"Setting" Over the weekend go to a place (a setting) of your choice and describe it using sensory detail (the 5 senses). Label the blog post "Setting." State your place/setting and then describe it using all the 5 senses. Write 5 sentences for each sense (total of 25 sentences). Start your sentences with: "I hear," "I smell," "I touch/feel," "I see," and "I taste." Remember to make your sentences 2-part and detailed for full credit!10/03/0810/06/08
#4"Developing Your Character"Use your experiences with the Character Sketch, Active Beginnings, and Red Flag Menu worksheets to develop a character. Find a character out in public or in your home. It could be the mail man, your mother, the Mc Donalds drive through guy, or whoever you happen to come into contact on the weekend. Try to pick someone who you don't already know, that way you can create this person the way you see fit. Create a new life for your character with new hopes, secrets, skills, a new personality, etc. Pretend you are narrating the characters actions, thoughts, feelings and possibly what other characters think of them if you want to take it that far (You know who you people are!) LENGTH REQUIREMENT: 225 WordsWEDNESDAY 10/08/08MONDAY 10/13/08
#5 "Freewrite #1" This is an unscripted blog posting. You have freedom to write about whatever you want, but there are requirements. As always, use academic language and avoid profanity. You also must make the posting 250 words long and include a certain type of media (song, picture, hyperlink, video, etc). These are the only requirements. Use this time to vent about a certain frustration in your life, tell a story, give a review on a product, critique a movie, the sky is the limit! Have fun and be safe this weekend!FRIDAY 10/17/08MONDAY 10/20/08
